Our Story

The Heart Behind Enjimaasai

My name is Happy Loketo, founder of Enjimaasai. I was born and raised in a Maasai community in Tanzania, where I grew up surrounded by traditions, storytelling and a deep respect for nature. These experiences shaped who I am and inspired my passion for sharing the beauty of Maasai culture with the world. For more than 7 years, I worked closely with a NORWEGIAN Organization in Tanga, welcoming and guiding nursing students from Norway. During that time, I built lasting friendships and gained a deep understanding of Scandinavian culture, expectations and ways of travelling. It was much more than work—it became a meaningful connection that continues today. Those relationships opened new doors and gave me the opportunity to travel to Norway, where I showcased my Maasai-inspired fashion at Oslo Fashion Week on several occasions. Sharing my culture on an international stage strengthened my belief that fashion, culture and travel can bring people together across borders. Later, I moved to France, where I continued developing my career, expanding Enjimaasai and working with people from many different backgrounds. Living in Europe gave me valuable insight into what international traveler's are looking for—authentic experiences, genuine connections and thoughtful service. Today, Enjimaasai brings together everything I have learned. Whether I am guiding you on safari, welcoming you to a Maasai village, sharing our traditions, or creating handcrafted fashion, my goal is the same: to help you experience Tanzania through local eyes while feeling comfortable, understood and at home. I speak English and French, and I love creating experiences that are personal, authentic and unforgettable. Come as a guest. Leave with a story.
